Educational innovation project jointly submitted by Sébastien Duchêne, Anne-Sarah Chiambretto and Gwenolé Le Velly has been selected for funding by the selection comittee of the I-SIte MUSE.

Project Down By the River aims to develop a serious game in environmental economics to highlight and understand issues related to the management of natural resources, which are central in social sciences undergraduate and graduate programs worldwide. The format (a video game) is especially relevant for learning purposes, as it allows to illustrate many theoretical results related in particular to the interactions between the involved parties.

The project is aimed at social science students, as well as students trained in other disciplines (agronomy, biology, ecology, hydrology,..) who would be willing to understand the social issues that may be related to the systems they study.

The game will be developed from April 2019 to September 2020, and the resulting open source software will be available online.
