Résumé

Using novel experimental design and computational modelling, we study how rats react to, and cope with, Rare and Extreme Events (REE). We show that rats exhibit specific sensitivity to Black Swan (aversive  REE) and Jackpot (appetitive REE) in the form of quasi-complete Black Swan avoidance together with partial Jackpot Seeking.

We also offer preliminary evidence about human behavior in an adapted experimental design.
